A little about us...
eXo Platform was established in 2003 because of customer demand. That customer -- the U.S. Department of Defense -- kicked off a tradition that continues to this day: Building great software in partnership with our customers. We can do this because we release our code in the open. It's how the DoD found us, when we were just a guy hacking away while studying for university exams, and it's how we choose to do business with our customers.
In openly releasing the code for the eXo Project in 2002, eXo delivered the industry's first Java portlet container, catalyzing a portal market dominated by a handful of very large vendors selling six-figure software and lock in. We opened the floodgates to choice in this market, and customers came.
Today, eXo provides a broad portfolio of collaborative software that transforms companies into high-performance Enterprise 2.0 businesses. The eXo stack brings together communications, content management, workflow and social applications that help people connect, share and engage no matter where they are in the organization.
Our software bridges the gap between the dynamic Web 2.0 experience we've all come to enjoy as consumers and the enterprise "productivity" applications we must use at the office that no longer measure up. We've created software with rich user interfaces and "ergonomic" features that are familiar and so intuitive that the learning curve is virtually nil.
Over the last decade, many enterprise companies have reaped amazing cost savings from migrating their developer tools, operating systems and middleware to an open source infrastructure. Now, eXo is extending these cost savings into the content services tier.
